Oleg Pavlov

Oleg Pavlov, CFA, is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Quadrum Global. With over 20 years of experience in investment banking, advisory and private equity, his entire career focus has been on emerging markets, turn-around situations and real estate.

Oleg graduated cum laude from Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in physics. He is also a graduate of American Institute of Business and Economics in Moscow with a degree in business administration. In 1998 he became one of the first Russian nationals in history to attain the CFA designation and is a standing member of CFA Institute.

Mr Pavlov began his career in management consulting at A.T.Kearney where he advised a number of multinational companies on market entry strategies, local acquisitions and direct investment in the newly opening Russian economy.

In 1995 he joined Brunswick UBS – a Russian investment banking affiliate of UBS AG as senior equity analyst. In 1997 he became a partner at the firm and subsequently moved to the investment banking division of the firm where he soon became responsible for a number of emerging Russian public and private companies, arranging private placement and pre-IPO financing, primary, secondary equity and debt issuance, as well as m&a and corporate governance advisory. During this time he originated a number of pioneering hybrid debt-equity issuance by several large Russian corporates. Prior to leaving UBS in early 2003 he was responsible for the bank’s Russian investment banking coverage in Moscow with particular focus on large Russian industrial groups.

In 2003 Mr Pavlov became a co-founder of Cube Capital, an alternative investment management and advisory firm. Between 2003 and 2013 as Managing Director and CIO of Real Assets he ran the firm’s advisory and private equity practice with particular focus on distressed and special situation investing in Central Europe and countries of the former Soviet Union. He was also responsible for key investor relations. During this time the firm AuM grew from founders’ capital to c. $1.3bn. in 2005 Mr Pavlov started Cube Capital’s real estate team with the launch of the first Quadrum Property Fund. The platform was initially active in the emerging markets of the former Soviet Union as well as South East Asia including real estate asset-backed financing and co-development. In the wake of 2008 financial crisis Oleg drew on his distressed investing expertise gained in the cyclical emerging markets in order to capitalize on distressed real estate opportunities in the US. In 2013 he led Quadrum’s buyout and spin-off from Cube Capital in order to dedicate his effort entirely to real estate investment and development.

As CEO of Quadrum Global Oleg spends his time formulating the overall investment strategy of the firm, key transactions as well as fostering key investor and business partner relations. He also oversees new business development and creation of all new product and service platforms within Quadrum group.
